Biography

The Chili Chicks dance team, led by Team Captain Wendie Smith is a community orientated team made up of professional women of all ages and backgrounds. From college students to professional dance instructors, the girls range in age from eighteen to forty plus and come to the team with everything from no dance experience to pro level resumes. The Chili Chicks provide great performances that are crowd pleasing and interactive. They are literally “the girls next door”, and they take great pride in providing entertainment for the entire family.   

The Chili Chicks dance team offers performance level opportunities to women who want to continue performing or who never have but always wanted to try. The Chili Chicks perform at charity events, large concerts, state fairs, amphitheaters and other events all over the U.S.A. The Team has performed with top Nashville stars such as Billy Currington, Lady Antebellum, The Eli Young Band, Trailer Choir, Justin Moore, Halfway to Hazard and many more. They have also danced at Toby Keith and Martina McBride concerts as well as at SeaWorld and Universal Studio’s Orlando. Simply stated The Chili Chicks provide women with the chance to dance and achieve their performance and entertainment dreams.

We want to share the joys of dance with everyone we can! We hope to show people the beauty and fun that comes from dancing and chasing your dreams.

Training

Training for the Chili Chicks dance team is very much like taking dance classes in a studio and the choreography learned is on a higher level than most professional line dance teams. Chili Chicks dances include many different styles of dance such as Jazz, Samba, Hip Hop and Ballet, yet most people who desire to, can learn these routines. Just as with a studio, The Chili Chicks learn, train and rehearse all year, and they perform numerous times every month. While there are no guarantees that anyone will make the team, everyone who wishes to try will work with team trainers and receive both individual and group instruction, all applicants will advance to full team status according to their ability.

New Members

The Chili Chicks are always looking for new members, however there are no auditions. If you are interested in joining the team and dancing in the bright spotlight, e-mail us at info@chilichicks.com. All Chili Chick positions, staff, support and members are volunteers. However performance outfits, trips, meals, professional dance instruction and posture coaches are provided.

Workshops on posture, make-up, dance, and other core topics are also provided to help all team members improve their ability and knowledge of performing at a professional level.
